Ikatan Dokter Anak Indonesia (IDAI) merespon wacana pembukaan sekolah seiring berakhirnya masa tanggap darurat Covid-19 pada 29 Mei 2020, serta berakhirnya pemberlakuan Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar (PSBB) di sejumlah daerah hingga transisi New Normal.
Ketua Umum IDAI, Dr Aman B Pulungan mengatakan IDAI telah melaksanakan deteksi kasus pada anak secara mandiri hingga 18 Mei 2020. Diketahui, jumlah anak terpapar positif Covid-19 berjumlah 584 anak dan 14 anak meninggal dunia. Sedangkan jumlah PDP anak sebanyak 3.324 anak dan 129 anak PDP meninggal dunia.
"Artinya, anak di Indonesia yang terinfeksi dan meninggal (karena Corona) dibanding negara lain masih cukup tinggi. Kami sebagai dokter anak penting untuk memperhatikan hak anak untuk hidup dan sehat, ini harus kita lindungi, ini kita amati terus datanya," kata dr Aman di tvOne, Minggu, 31 Mei 2020.
Berdasarkan data tersebut, IDAI kata dr Aman, menilai bawa rencana pembukaan sekolah di tengah angka penularan dan kematian anak akibat corona tinggi sangat berisiko terhadap anak.

"Akhirnya mereka bicara ke pemda, ke kepala dinas, akhirnya ditunda. Anjuran kami sebaiknya kita lakukan (pembukaan sekolah) sampai Desember. Kita butuh waktu analisa apakah sudah bisa (sekolah dibuka) sampai Desember, karena ini kasusnya masih meningkat," ujar dr Aman.
Selama itu, IDAI mengimbau sekolah-sekolah tetap menerapkan bentuk pembelajaran jarak jauh atau online kepada siswa dengan melibatkan guru dan orang tua, mengingat sulitnya pengendalian penyebaran virus apabila dalam bentuk kerumunan.
"Disamping itu, kami minta pemeriksaan lebih banyak 30 kali dari kasus sekarang," ungkapnya.
IDAI berharap semua pihak, baik sekolah, guru maupun orang tua bisa bekerjasama dan memahami kondisi yang sulit ini. Sembari menjaga anak-anak tetap di rumah dengan pola hidup sehat dan melengkapi semua tahapan imunisasi anak secara terus-menerus di tengah pandemi Covid-19.
